She answered:
"Then you won't be standing here now."

Someone asked:
"What if I hadn't been such an idiot?"
She answered:
"Then you wouldn't have known your wrong."

Someone asked:
"What if I had taken that job and not this?"
She answered:
"Then you might not have regretted the decision."

Someone asked:
"What if I get a chance to redo what I had done?"
She answered:
"There is no "what if".
